Bumper light out
I just bought an Audi Q7 from 2010 and have got the following error code with vcds02960 - Lamp in Bumper; Rear Left & 02961 - Lamp in Bumper; Rear Right
I made some measurement and there isnīt any voltage to the bulbs either when they are out.
This problems seems to come and go. Is there anyone who has any idea where to start looking for the problem?
the problem apliece to all of the bumper lights, fog light, turn signal and revers light.
Those rear lamp strips are pretty easy to remove if you look it up...basically just remove the blocker plug, need decent length screwdriver to reach the retaining screw, and voila'...it cantilevers out of the opening, so you can service the bulbs/inspect the wiring and sockets, etc.
I've got a '10 also, and have had to replace a bulb back there. If you tried to install generic/aftermarket LED bulbs as reverse bulbs that'll kick out a fault code too, as this is a very, very sensitive CANBUS system. There's only one overpriced LED bulb that definitely works as a reverse lamp on this car.
So am I understanding correctly that the car can shut off the power to the light bulbs if it feels like there is some bad ground connection or some loose connection or similar?

Are you saying the individual light socket (one bulb holder) was replaced, or the entire lighting assembly for one or both sides has been replaced, which is indicative of a prior rear-end collision or a driver's parking lot back-up boo-boo, or ice dancing tryout perhaps.
Check the part # to verify those are the OE parts...take pics to save time, and double verify there are no aftermarket LED bulbs installed as reverse lamps or in any other bulb locations on those bumper fixtures, as those would likely be the reason...wrong voltage pass-through results, and car thinks there's a problem. Based on those two codes you provided, it should be relatively simple cause/effect scenario. The fixtures being replaced adds complexity if they aren't the OE light fixtures (Magnetti Marrelli part, etc., so check all the details.
