Default Audi Electronic Fuel Latch and Electronic Trunk Issue

On my 2008 Audi Q7 I’m having a issue where sometimes the trunk and the gas lid doesn’t open since they are controlled electronically and sometimes they do I’ve noticed that the power line for the electronic trunk and the gas lid is the same as the dome lights in the vehicle and whenever the dome lights have power the trunk and the gas cap works without any issue and when the dome lights don’t get power the trunk and the gas cap doesn’t work at all sometimes when I lock and unlock the vehicle the dome lights turn on and then I am able to open the gas cap and the trunk sometimes though when I lock and unlock the vehicle the dome lights never turn on regardless of how many times I’ve locked and unlocked the vehicle. However today morning when I checked up on the vehicle I noticed that once I pressed the hazard lights the dome lights got power and then after I opened the trunk of gas cap once the power cuts off and then again when I press on the hazard lights the dome gets power again and then remains for sometime and then cuts out again after this I turned on my vehicle and once I turned it off again the hazard light method didn’t work anymore currently I am clueless of what it could be any ideas are much appreciated.

Thank You.

The release latch is well known to get a little 'sticky' over years of use and dust accumulation, and/or the release switch mounted in door could be acting up. Many owners find that simply spraying the latch/mechanism with a bit of penetrating lubricant sets everything right again, when there are no other issues between the switch to the latch it triggers.

There's also an 'emergency' manual release pull for the fueling hatch located inside the cargo panel (removeable panel) just inside the Cargo hatch on right...it's a red plastic handle.

Suggest you buy a VAGCOM capable scan tool. VAG = VW Auto Group...they use a proprietary coding for control modules, so you need a VAGCOM type scan tool to read ALL of the faults/error codes your Q7 has stored for you. Perform a full scan of your car as baseline and save that scan for future reference.

If you want to DIY electronics issues/repairs, then get a scan tool that will absolutely help you (and save lots of money) in the endeavor to fix your car...the Ross-Tech VCDS.

I’ve tried the above and unfortunately none of them worked I called in a electrician to get the vehicle checked on and whilst he was attempting to solve the issue everything worked once he left everything came back again I’ve noticed and confirmed that the issue is a power shortage and I can get to know when the trunk and the fuel latch gets power by checking the done lights when I open the door if the done lights are getting power everything works fine if not nothing gonna work so I’m tryna pin point the main power line that goes to them
