VCDS advice
Hello all, just got around to acquiring my VCDS cable and a couple other mods. Going to hopefully play around with the program some today and get a feel for it. My question is does anyone know if you can program the fog lights to stay on with high beams? I have my fogs tinted yellow so I run them quite often and I find myself using my light bar more often than my high beams so they don't turn off (only on back roads near my house and I treat it like high beams, I'm not a butt lol). Thanks in advance. My ride is a 2015 premium plus petrol

Yes, you can! I don't recall now which thread it was that we discussed it, but I did this in conjunction with turning off the "bulb out" warning so that it wouldn't throw errors with my LED bulbs a couple years ago.

Thank you! Wish I would've known I could cancel that warning lol, my LEDs throw codes as well so I opted to order an h11 canbus module. We'll see if the module works before I disable the message altogether. I'll get to hunting for the thread.

Yeah, I coded this option too for max lighting. It's a fairly common mod, and easy to do, but I'd have to go look it up too. Consider it a right of passage...go search for it online. That's just the easiest way to locate that kind of information, and nine times out of ten the search results will link you to archival forum threads, where you can learn other useful options.
Be sure you pay attention for coding LED fog bulbs so those don't throw bulb-out errors too, if haven't changed those over yet.
When I installed my LED fog bulbs they sent me the Canbus adapters (a resistor plug-in pack), and mine still threw a bulb-out error. That's what motivated me to locate the fog bulb coding...super simple.
Also, the CANBUS 'adapter' is just a string of resistors to make it appear the voltage consumption is within the expected range, so you simply are wasting voltage by using them with the LED fog bulbs...just FYI.

Yes, agreed on the coding for Canbus error.... I ordered a set of modules to go in-line, and they didn't work. At least, they didn't work consistently, which means they are even MORE annoying than just getting the error once when you first turn on the fog lights! I installed my resistors while I was in Ohio on a trip, and then had to listen to intermittent wailing beeps from my dash every five to thirty minutes all the way home. It got annoying enough that I eventually just stopped using the extra lighting on that trip... and immediately resolved the issue for good after I got home! That was 5,000 miles of torture, for sure.
