Default Subwoofer adjustment

After playing around with VCDS for a couple days I pretty much have everything configured the way I like, including disabling the awful bose dsp. However, after disabling the bose dsp an option comes up now labeled "subwoofer" on my mmi. This "subwoofer" option comes set to the minumum level and cannot be adjusted via the mmi. Does anyone know if this can be coded to work? Or if it can be coded to work, does it actually effect the subwoofer level? If anyone has any insight I would appreciate it. I'm going aftermarket in the future anyway but it would be cool to get this working for the time being. Pictures of new "subwoofer" setting I'm referring to

I can't say whether it does or doesn't affect the subwoofer level, but I'll go ahead and say I doubt it will. What I did (which is SUPER DIY) is I just took out the Bose sub. I replaced it with my own setup: 12" sub, 400w RMS amplifier, line-output converter, and gain **** in-line. I'll throw some instructions in another post if you'd like as I found a way to drastically simplify the installation.

I will ask: what's the reason for disabling the DSP? What advantage do you find in disabling it? Any disadvantages? I'd consider it if I could better tweak my system (x-overs, eliminate the low-end roll-off, etc.)

I would appreciate that as I found a pretty sweet sub enclosure on eBay that holds a 12, but there's not enough air I feel like for a 12 so I want to use a downsizer ring and run an 8. So if you have an easy way I'll sure do it lol. And it's strictly user preference on the way the music sounds, we listen to music from all sides of the spectrum and some songs it almost seemed like there was a tinny quality to it. Almost like the sound was grown straight in a lab instead of from a human, it didn't bother me with electronic music though. I disabled to have a more baseline listening experience, especially adding an aftermarket sub in the future.

That's all understandable. I definitely see where you're coming from, the Bose system sounds better with certain genres than others. Wish I could just take a parametric EQ to it and tune it myself.

As for the sub wiring, hang tight and I'll send a video later this evening (just about 2hrs from now.) It comes across as an EXTREMELY janky setup, but I've been running it no issue for 4 months at this point, and have really pushed it to its limits.

lol you should've seen my old side by side setup, as long as the wires are the correct gauge and the connections are secure I don't think there's too janky of a setup at all. I'll look out for the video, I appreciate it man
