Green Air Light and Front Wheel is Lower Than Normal
I have a 2007 Audi Q7, and I’ve been driving it for 327,000 km.
A week ago, I had some maintenance done, including:
- Oil and filter change
- Brake disc and pad replacement (front and rear)
After this, I noticed a problem with the air suspension:
- The green air suspension light now stays on longer and appears more frequently than before.
- Before this incident, the green light rarely turned on.
- The car now sits lower than normal, especially at the front wheels.
- The compressor is running; I can hear it working.
- About 5-6 months ago, I switched the air suspension mode from Comfort to Dynamic, but the system did not allow it. Instead, the yellow air suspension light blinked, turned off, and then everything seemed normal again.
Thanks in advance! Please help me
Not sure how long you've had your Q7, but on ours, we got about 105k miles from the original air suspension compressor before it died completely, and it struggled for a period of time before it finally stopped working completely. Yours would seem to be giving you the early signs that it is failing/struggling, and given that your car has a little over 200k miles on it, I'd say it's due; the timing of it is rather unfortunate though since you just did brakes and now with the No-START scenario.
There's myriad videos online of how to service/replace the air suspension components, as well as diagnose for air leaks/common leak & parts failure points, etc. If you DIY, then this is not rocket science and fairly easy to manage with basic tools, but you do need a decently capable VAGCOM scan tool to help you diagnose, test, and recalibrate the air suspension ride height after disconnecting and/or replacing specific components.
To be sure, I don't know 100% what your issue is either way due to missing details surrounding the NO-START scenario to help flesh that out...myriad scenarios are documented in online videos you can easily search as Audi Q7 No-Crank, No-Start, etc., based on exactly what symptoms your car has.
The air suspension is just old and will be needing some maintenance; likely a new compressor if that's not been replaced in forever; ours lasted a little over 100k miles, so use that as a general longevity guide on the compressor. There are other components that may fail, but generally it's the compressor. If it never had any 'stance' issues before you put it up on the lift, you also might consider if the height sensors need some cleaning/lubrication of their joints, etc., as those tend to get jammed up/corroded/not work well over time...most times the linkage can be examined and cleaned/lubed...simple.
Good luck!!!
The engine is running perfectly fine, and I have no issues with it.
My only problem is that my air suspension system, which was working properly before lifting the car, caused the front wheels to drop after supplying power while on the lift. Additionally, the green air suspension light is frequently coming on.
I will check the things you mentioned, but if the issue were with the compressor, I believe I would have experienced problems even before lifting the car.
