Default Replace/fill in front US license plate bracket

Anyone have some insight in replacing/filling in this bracket? I have a different place to put the license plate and I hate the way it looks there lol.

Hahah! I did a search for aluminum license plate inserts, and that was the one that popped up at the top (bright pink!). However, there were a lot of other options I saw with artwork designs, etc., that could look nice there. The way Audi integrated the license plate holder into the grille, I think you have to replace the entire insert if you want to eliminate that area entirely. I know there are replacements on eBay, and I think there were a few mentions of that sort of work somewhat recently, like on the "look what I did to my Q7 today" thread and Pstat's overlander build thread.

Yeah, I’m kinda hoping to just replace that entire grille insert. Pulled it off recently and, although easy, it didn’t look like you can just take it off. It’s part of the grille that would require a whole different insert to be, well, inserted. Might have to check out some of the threads recommended though, thank you.

The 'holder' is just a modular trim piece. Source the one, as mentioned above, that has no license plate cutout in it, if you want the 'clean' look, or you can always go buy a different grill insert entirely and just swap out the whole shebang for a honeycomb style grill, etc. Whatever floats your boat.

Often times you can find someone who will straight-up trade you, as they need/want the OE license plate holder, etc., but have the 'smooth' trim piece on their Q7 grill. The RS Q7 style grills do look pretty sweet though...if you going for style points.
