Default Rear Camera Module

Hi All, I have a 2013 Audi Q7 whose rear view camera has just died. Does anyone know the correct p/n for said module and more importantly have a picture of its location??? I have looked online but cant really seem to track down location. I think the p/n might be 4L0910441B? Please help as I really miss not having it ,lol. TIA Kevin

There's a fair few problems that could cut the feed from your rear 'parking camera', so first things first, you need to scan the car fully via VAGCOM type scan tool to read the fault codes.

Maybe you need a camera, or maybe you just need the backup alarm 'horn', which makes the beeping noise you hear making tones as a proximity alert, etc. Yes, believe it or not, if that 'horn' goes bad, then you lose the camera feed also as a knock-on symptom/impact.

Know what you need before throwing parts at a Q7, as throwing parts at the wall gets very expensive on this car, and those camera's ain't cheap. They also don't tend to fail, not that they can't, and especially if your rear wiper motor is spewing washer fluid throughout the liftgate (located above the camera in lift gate) due to failed internal seals on the wiper motor, but I digress.

The rear camera itself is mounted just above the license plate, etc.

BONUS:
If you use VCDS or a similarly capable VAGCOM that gives you the required details and full access to the Q7, then in the scan details it provides you the exact hierarchy of module part #'s above the actual fault code, etc., so shows you location of the problem/fault reporting.

I HAVE checked every fuse possible related to the backup camera/park assist with no fails. I have replaced both

2013 2014 2015 AUDI Q7 PARK PARKING AID ASSISTANT COMPUTER CONTROL MODULE OEM and

2009-2015 AUDI Q7 - REAR VIEW / Reverse Camera Control Module 4L0907441B they are both used so ?????

One thing I noticed is when you go to the MMI screen and select Parking aid, I can go to it BUT none of the options light up so if I select one it tells me that its not available...I dont have an Audi dealer near but what should an indi look for ?

Did you use a VAGCOM scan tool to pull ALL fault codes prior to replacing parts? If not, then swapping to used modules may or not resolve your current 'no-camera feed' issue.

If you swapped used parts onto your Q7 w/o pulling ALL fault codes first using a VAGCOM type scan tool, then you also need to understand that any part that is security coded (meaning it is linked/coded to a specific VIN#) has to be 'recoded' by a shop or Audi dealer with access to the ODIS interface. The ODIS tool/interface connects to Germany security database to retrieve/modify the security coding on specific control modules, etc., so this is required both to verify the used part is not stolen, and then to recode it to match your specific VIN# before it will function in the car. Not all parts on a Q7 are security coded, however, both of these particular control modules likely require security coding. A quick call to your Audi dealer locally can verify this.

Again, I want to stress since you didn't mention having used a VAGCOM yet to fully scan your Q7 for fault codes that you are going about this in a very obtuse manner and hoping for the best result, which is exactly how a Q7 becomes extremely expensive to repair, as now you've introduced additional variables and security coding expenses, since that function is reserved to the Audi/VW 'ODIS' system.

Recoding security-enabled control modules is going to cost at least an hour of labor at Audi Stealer. Very few indie shops have the ODIS system due to its' relative expense to license access from VW/Audi. If you haven't scanned the car via compatible VAGCOM scan tool, then you don't really know if you on the correct path or not...it's just tossing lawn-darts in the dark.

As mentioned prior, there are myriad possible faults that will result in a loss of the camera feed and/or loss of the entire parking system function. Many of these are quite basic, and related to a faulty output device and/or input sensor based faults. You can also really mess up your park-assist system by modifying seemingly unrelated coding in the Green Menu on this car and creating internal conflicts, etc. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt!

Hopefully, it'll all work out for you in the end.

Also, as I've been through this already on our '15 Q7 S-line, not all Q7s use the same coding for these modules. There are Q7s with front cameras, and so the parking assist module you bought could be coded for a slightly diff camera setup (either single rear camera, or having both front/rear cameras, such as on S-line trim cars, etc.), which will also create a conflict and cause the system to be non-functional. The configuration coding can easily be verified/changed via a full-access VAGCOM scan tool, like the Ross-Tech VCDS, but the security /theft-protection coding verification and reset requires the ODIS system access to the mother-ship in Germany.

The listing you linked failed to mention the install/coding requirements, but similar part listings on eBay do mention that these require professional install/coding to be usable, which alludes to their security coding, as well as possible recoding to match your car's parking system hardware setup.
