Change oil change interval to 5,000 miles?

I did:
17 - module
10 - adaption
43 - max mileage to service (changed from 300 to 150) Figuring that was half.
Still 10K stares at me.
What am I missing.
I even watched several videos, still cannot change.
Thank you in advance.
I only change the oil drain interval to 5,000 miles or so. I don't fool around with the days to next service, but assume the change required is very similar to modifying the OCI.
The key things I have learned is that I always do a complete SRI reset, then I go in and manually change the interval from 10,000 to 5,000. You can watch it reset in the MMI in real time. I alter the Channel value in Adaptation. It's somewhere around Channel 50 or so.

To change the programmed interval values (mileage/time) you simply have to go into the control module and change the programmed values, then save the new values...exactly what the video linked above shows how to do in VCDS.
The other option is having an OBD-eleven or similar app-based VAGCOM that supports 'convenience modifications/programming'. My OBD-eleven will change the service intervals for me in exchange for a few points on my OBD-eleven account, and there are a handful of other useful mods or basic functions I have used my OBD-eleven's pre-programmed 'toolkit' to activate as well. I've even used it to run the fuel pump after changing the fuel filter...a one-touch option. It's not great as a diagnostic tool, but it does have its' moments.

Truth is you can do almost anything except security coding using VCDS, so if you are not naturally curious like me, then do your research on how to use VCDS for what you desire to change. So many tutorials out there on how to use VCDS, including directly from Ross-Tech.
