Can someone please post a writeup on installing an aftermarket headunit?

On the FAQ, the pictures were not loading correctly and there isn't exactly anything mentioning specific steps on the wiring harness, or mounting kits

Also, do I need a PAC-OEM 2 Wiring Adapter?

You need to do a custom mounting kit

For the 2001, there is no mounting kit available. It sucks because there is one for the <2000 and >2001. Just nothing for the Symphony I head-units. The wiring harness isn't that bad. I think you can buy a VW one. The only thing is make sure you don't hook up the blue wire to anything. That is your K-Line (diagnostic) which can cause VAG-COMs to die.
