Stealership gave me a loaner B7 for the weekend....
They're mystified by my central lock gremlin so I'm tooling around in a 2.0T FSI Quattro base model. It's the least they could do since they're not providing any vaseline with the bill.
When comparing to my stock '01 - initial impressions are that the 2.0T is much smoother and faster, but is noisy under aceleration. Steering feels lighter and more effortless. (Like my Lexus - it's easy to flip the wheel around one fingered).
Fit and finish are top notch as expected, but the aluminium trim sucks - it reflects sunlight like a SOB right into my eyes. So far I'm liking this car a lot.
Think the dealership would notice if I swapped the rims for the ones on my wife's B5.5 Passat?

shudder when you are stopped at a light or something. I had a B7 when they did my timing belt, and I swear to god, whenever I came to a stop, the whole car shuddered as if you were braking to a stop without depressing the clutch (it was an automatic). Just wonderin' if you noticed that or not.
