changed my brakes now they stink?...
I just changed my rotors (Zimmerman cross drilled) and my pads (mintex reds). I just took the car out and i saw some smoke up front and it smells real bad, of course i was braking very hard, but i want to know if this is normal, or is this wierd? Maybe there is break in period or sumthin? thanks for the help!!

The brakes usually are coated to prevent rust. that stuff is every where including..
in the cooling fins of the rotor, the face and the hat. I scrub the face of the rotor to get most of the stuff off, but at times they will smoke when first bedding them. Braking should get better and the smoke disappear.

You know they're running the 24 hours of LeMans right now...too bad they're still airing NASCRAP on the speed channel right now when they were supposed to go back to LeMans at 5PM....
