Question about inner TRE's - do they adjust like the outers?

Question about inner TRE's - do they adjust like the outers?

The outer tie rod ends can be turned to affect a change in toe. My question is if you reached behind the outer tie rod, put a wrench on the inner tie rod and turned it (keeping the outer tie rod stationary), would the toe change or does this have zero impact on toe?

They don't adjust at all.

It's a ball/socket type of joint. Undoing the inner captive nut will make the ball/socket joint loose. Sure the toe will change, and it'll just keep changing since the ball will be loose in the socket.

I was thinking it was a ball and socket, but the alignment didn't seem to line up where I thought it would after replacing the TRE. My last thought was maybe turning the inner TRE may have done something.

Back to the drawing board. We'll just adjust the outer and see if we can get the alignment within reason.

The background here is that this is an accident repair car. Front left took a hit and a friend is trying to minimize the repair costs by replacing the suspension bits himself. He bought a kit from you, and we swapped in new uppers, lowers, and the tie rod on the left corner (part of it was done as a maintenance, and part was a result of the accident). Hopefully I'll just adjust the tie rod and everything will be back to normal.
