Did some monitoring of IATs with the tyrolsport IC last night...
Ambient temp was 88F, basically just drove around on surface streets running through 1st, 2nd and sometimes the first half of 3rd gear. IATs were between 49C and 55C, IIRC. Popping the hood after, the turbo was glowing while the upper tank of the IC stayed relatively cool. This is with the standard GIAC K04 chip.

Hm. That doesn't seem to jive with their "tests".
With my PC-16 file, which runs higher boost and more timing, I have to pull through 4th gear repeatedly to get over 48C intake temps on my EVO MS FMIC... and thats in 95F+ weather.
Tyrolsport says they get better results than the FMIC they tested...

Trying to heatsoak the core in stop and go doesn't
really compare to fourth gear runs. I'm reluctant to do third or fourth gear pulls until my new clutch is broken in as I wasn't exactly adhearing to the guidelines for that yesterday.

1st and 2nd gear arn't going to do much, the car is going to slow.
IMO, the tyrol intercooler should come with a fiberglass duct like the AWE s4 intercoolers come with. Secondly if you do not have a S4 fender liner you are really wasting your time.
