Did the TB & Water pump over the weekend.
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/100581/no_tensioner.jpg"></center><p>The water pump was leaking last week, so I figured I'd dive into it over the weekend. I didn't know if the TB had been done, so at 103K miles it couldn't hurt either way.
I printed out the tech article by Andy & BSK & followed it step by step. (Great article by the way)
Things went great until I got the TB covers off & it looked a little different than I expected. It seems the TB had been done, but the tensioner was completely gone! (see the pic) Any body ever seen this before?
I went ahead & installed the new style tensioner & related parts. The re-assembly went pretty smooth (although I forgot the put the A/C belt back on, & had to do it from underneath).
Started about 2:00 Friday afternoon & pulled it out of the garage @ 8:05pm, just over 6 hours for the total job. The only help I enlisted was the wife to hold one end of the bumper while I pulled the other side off.
