Need some advice, PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok I have a 99 A4 1.8tq, on the way home today the car started to spudder and skip pretty bad. I drove a few blocks and the c/e light started to flash. I stop at the local AZ and they said I have a cyclinder #3 misfire, and a code either P1303 or P303, but is was smoothing to do with the igniton control being reset of some sort, or the guy said. Well I had no choice but to make it the rest of the way home and I got here and noticed that around the catalitic conveter it was smoking. Could this be because the car was pumping raw gas in to the cat?
I really can not afford to take it to the shop right now. Any advice is helpful. I was thinking that I will get some new plugs and a coil tomorrow and change them, but wondered about the smoking?

smoking? like..
exhaust gasket leaking type smoking.. or the body of it.. if so.. good ol heatsoak might be the cause. No big deal.. coilpack is probably your issue if not it's your icm... more money on the coilpack though. Smoking probably isn't anything drastic.. good luck...

Well I needed ICM everyone wanted $325+ for them, I found a brand new seal one on Ebay for $85 shipped put it in today and the car runs like new. Saved myself a ton of cash.
I am gonna replace the plugs as well, since I had to drive home with 1 cyclinder pouring gas on the plug figured it may be fouled.
