I just came up with some wiring ideas for my ecodes I've ordered
Since I'm losing my fog lights that doubled as DRLs, I came up with some wiring changes to my HID ecodes.
Instead of having my city lights come on with the parking lights, why not rewire then to the high beam circuit and control them with the headlight stalk and then wiring my high beams to the fog light circuit? Since the high beams put no more load on it than the fogs, no worries there.
My reasoning behind this is HIDs and the city lights are hard if not impossible to see during the daytime. However, since the high beams are still halogen, have a wider beam pattern, they are much more visible in daylight.
Yes, I understand the idea behind city lights and all and that's great, BUT why would I not want to show off my ecodes whenever possible? As far as I'm aware, I'm the only one with ecodes on all the A4s I've seen in the area. There's a B6 with HIDs lacking the yellow reflector, but I don't recall if they had robot eyes or not.
