Can I bore over the engine 2.5mm?

Default Can I bore over the engine 2.5mm?

Since I have to machine the cylinders when putting new piston in anyways can I bore it over to an 83.5mm piston? Or will that be too much for the walls to be able to use the high boost I plan and keep the heat disipation that a stock motor has? If it is too much what size can I do to maximize the displacement?

ya, do you have to bore out the crank housing to accomadate the 2.0 crank?

iirc youi need to knife edge the crank counterweights. search this forum for 2.0L conversions.

Default Cylinders R vry close on a 1.8t I have seen blocks split between the bores on hi perf. builds that

use a lot of boost. Word was Dahlback split 2 -3 quickly trying to get over 500hp. If you can afford a little machine work, start with a VW tall block. I have found this to be superior to any Audi block. I would also advise you to have a girdle put into bottom end to stabilize the rotating mass. Call Bertils engines, he probably already has some 1.8ts with the girdle done, billet maincaps will also help.
If you can wait 6 months we are probably going to do a few blocks with cylinder liner sleeves. This of course will not be cheap.
