cam chain tensioner HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! (long)

I got '99.5 A4 1.8tmq, the only mod I have is GIAC Performance chip. I had some ticking noise coming from the back of the cylinder head which was getting louder and faster with increasing of RPM's, so I assumed that my cam chain tensioner is going bad, ordered a new one last week from the dealer, I installed it yesterday afternoon, replasing all the seals. After I assembled everything back together and started the car, this ticking noise did NOT disappear, but actually got worse, it is louder right now then it was prior to replasement. Also it seems that car lost some of the power, not as fast as used to be and it seems that engine makes much more effort to accelerate then it used to.
Any ideas what could have gone wrong, I torqued all cam bolts to 10 Nm, double checked everything twice already, still can't find what is going on with my engine.
