Alarm on the fritz

I have an 2001 A4 1.8t.

Went on a trip, left the car in the airport lot for 4 days. It locked fine. No sign of breakin.

Got home, locked the door and didnt hear any arming horn. Walked away, and then about 20 minutes later heard the alarm going off, and the lights flashing when i got out there.

I checked all the doors, the hood, trunk, and tried again, and same thing. SO now I cant lock the door, otherwise the alarm goes off at a later time. I tried locking from the key-door hole, and the same thing happened.

Anyone got any ideas, or similiar experiences?

Was it raining?

Check the central locking pump and see if it is wet. It's located on the passenger side of the trunk . If it is, remove the bottom white plastic plate and let dry (papertowels help). Whatever you do, do not disconnect any wires or air lines.
