Crank pulley looks like it spins uneven?

Am I just seeing things? I only noticed cause my v-belt is wore and when i spray a tiny bit of wd40 on that section of the crank pulley the tiny squeak disappears for a sec so I got to staring at the pulley, looks like it spins out of round but maybe not?

Probably just looks that way. Any vibrations or noise when you rev the engine?

yeah i'm currently tracking down some minor hum/vibration that's rpm dependant

but it also looks like my engine/trans mounts are shot and from what i can tell the crank pulley isn't a balancing part anyway so i dunno

did you do your timing belt recently?

take a peak in with an inspection mirror and make sure all the bolts are still in place. Hate to admit it... but after doing 8 timing belts on 1.8Ts, when I did my Gf's timing belt this past summer, I didnt torque down the bolts well enought and she was getting a weird noise, and noticable amount of activity on the serpentine tensioner about a week later. 2 of the bolts had backed out.

dealer did the tbelt about 50k ago, check the bolts on the crank pulley yer saying?

yeah check them out...and like i said, your serpentine tensioner will also show you any wobble

yeah the auto-tensioner up top looks ok, tension changes as revs increase but it looks fine

Be very very careful! MORE..

Over the summer I noticed this problem and figured id fix it when i got a chance. Well I didnt have to wait that long because the crank gear ended up sheering the key off on the crank shaft which slipped the timing belt, and I had another catastrophic failure.

The bolt holding the crank gear on is a torque to yield bolt meaning it need to be replaced once removed. I would then the dealership would have replaced it if they took it off for something, but I'd make sure the actually crank gear isn't loose before u drive it any more.
