CEL for P0116 Eng Coolant Temp CKT
Vehicle is a 96 A4 2.8Q. I have searched the forum and read a bunch about this fault. All fingers point to the ECT sensor that feeds the ECM, but I changed this sensor last spring for the same CEL code and the CEL stayed off. The weather is getting colder here in Indiana and the water temp gauge is barely getting off the left peg. I believe the gauge has it's own sensor. Is my current problem a thermostat that is stuck open? Appreciate any thoughts.
