Default Went to sears and got a replacement battery for pro-rated cost. $78.51 w/ tax! w00t!

Shop monkey told me my serpentine belt looked worn (it was replace with the timing belt 2 years ago) and that my car's voltage when running was a little on the low side, 13.6v and that the alternator might be nearing the end.

The belt does look worn, but there isn't any cracking in it and when he tested the voltages, I had my front and rear fogs on so it was under a small load. Should I worry about either or wait for more signs to merit replacement?

Default Wait for more signs IMO

I know on my last car, a Saab 9000 you just needed to replace the voltage regulator to fix that.

it's fine. worry when it's below 12. Sears and the like just trying to get more work out of you.

Default I went through my car's records and found the belt had in fact been replaced with the t-belt

and when I called the shop that did my t-belt, he said the serp belt should last at least until the next t-belt change.

As for the voltage, I went from a drive with VAG-COM and logged voltages coming from the ECU. It reported back a healthy 13.4v-13.6v so no worries.
