AVS Sport vs Dunlop SP9000--any advice on pros/cons?
Sorry if I did not give enough info up front, but I'm looking for an appropriate tire for use in LA, where we get three or four months of rain per year, and roads tend to puddle up (hydroplaning risk). I'm wondering what the hydroplaning resistance of the AVS Sport is, and how much comfort you give up in exchange for the increased dry pavement performance.
If I lived in Seattle, I'd consider the 9000s, but I don't know if I want to give up the dry traction . . .
And I don't want to give $ to Bridgestone (personal feeling).
THanks for any input!
In a nutshell, the AVS will offer you better dry handling & performance feel. The Dunlop trades some of the off for a more ride oriented tire. USe that to dermine which one you like best.
Both are really great wet traction tires, the DUnlops in trading off some performance may offer you a bit more treadlife as well.
Call me with any questions or to discuss further!

If you have few coin, I would look carefully at the BFG KD series, KDW possibly.
For your climate, I would run the KD's, or Toyo R1's and just slow way down in the rain. Nothing is really going to help with all the oil filming you get.
