Vredestein tires
Peter
Right I have used subject tyres here in scotland on my TDI 132ps/227lb/ft front wheel A4 Avant for 3 seasons and 2 complete sets. They are excellent tyres as long as it stays cold ie not above 5c dry or 10c wet, cos the compound goes off above these temps and the tread get "soft" and the handling of the car becomes less precise. In the cold weather however I can say they are a revalation...put it this way I used to drive from sea level to about 500 ft altitude before getting down to sea level on my run in to work in weather ranging from dry hard frost to wet snow/slush to sheet ice(all on one journey!!!) and I NEVER had a traction related problem as long as I drove to the conditions (but not like a monk ok). They were designed at the forefront of directional tyre design some years ago and most manufacturers are now into directional designs now. They are not a pure snow tyre but a "h" rated(euro rating) high speed wet/cold tyre. I will continue to use them on steel rims this coming winter. size 15" rim 195 by 65 standard Audi steel wheel. Can't say fairer than that.
