Need recommendations on 225/17/45 tires? Nitto 450? BP RE730? Pirelli P7000? Who offers the best
I've heard and read on the Forum good things about the Br. Potenza RE730, Pirelli P7000 and Nito 450.
They are all priced similar and have the same treadwear of b/n 300-320. I've heard that the Nitto's are louder once they wear a little bit. What are the best in this category? Where should I buy them from? Who has the best prices? It's amazing the difference in prices from local shops to purchasing through TireRack or Discount Tires.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Peter
Dry performance quite exceptable, coming from OEM Dunlop 8000e's.
Nice sturdy sidewall, very predictable traction when aggressive (just did the drive of 1000 turns) and lets just say, Uhm, what speed limit!?
Auto-X this weekend to see if I can scrub off some tread, they are tough so far.
Noise, Adam S stated something about his getting louder when road temps get hot (it hit 100 a bit around here lately). Mine seem fine, I don't expect 4x4 truck tire noises even after 1000's of miles?
I'm satisfied!
Got em at Tirerack through Eddie (just don't forget to mention his x#, just a plug Eddie) :-)
hope this helps
Richard
Also, the Toyo T1-S proxies cost more than both tires and have a 280 treadwear. I hear these are terrific. Do you know anything regarding these tires?
Thanks,
Peter
