Blizzak MZ01 opinions?

I'm considering getting these for my new A4 1.8T (along w/steel takeoffs). I've read dozens of winter tire postings in the archives. But I'd like to hear from anyone who has the MZ01s and can comment specifically on their performance in ice, snow, wet, and dry conditions. Please include which part of the country you are from. Since I am in Wisconsin, the experiences of midwesterners/snowbelters is probably going to be the most helpful. TIA!

MZ-O1'S worked great in Park City, Utah......

They are a bit mushy on dry roads at high speeds but in the snowpack and in ice they were incredible. I was also impressed with their slush traction or ability to sipe. Overall I would recommend them for those who really need snow tires ie for those who live in a ski resort town as opposed to those visit every other weekend because you do loose dry road handling.

Thanks for the info....No ski resorts here, but

What would you consider to be "high speeds"? Over 60? 80? Does the handling get mushy under normal driving, or only when you try drive a little on the aggressive side? Winters here are usually a mix of heavy snows, ice, slush, and dry roads (once everything gets salted, sanded, and plowed). I know I'm going to have to compromise somewhere - I'd rather have slightly mushy dry handling if the tires will save my butt in the snow and ice as long as it isn't _too_ mushy.
