QUICK HELP NEEDED: New Blizzak LM-22s vs Dunlop Winter Sport M2?
I've seen a bunch of messages here indicating that Blizzaks would be nice except (thanks to Chris L's summary):
-non-aggressive tread design
-squirmy on dry pavement
-limited treadwear of 'ice'compound
Because of that, I went ahead and ordered the Dunlop. However, I now see Eddie's post that Blizzak has a new model. Has anyone tried this in dry and seen if it addresses these problems? If I'm going to change my order, I need to do it today or tomorrow

I have the new LM-22s...
I had 205/50/16 Pirelli W210As last year. I got the LM-22s in 225/45/17. My thoughts so far are:
- VERY aggressive tread pattern
- Good dry/wet handling...as good or better than the W210A
- Not squirmy at all, for a winter tire
- Snow handling, to be determined
I would think that the 16" should perform pretty much the same.
I considered the Dunlops, but figured that they might be phased out soon and replaced, since they've been around a while. That's what happened to the W210As this year.

Dont let the earlier Blizak models confuse you.
Different compounds & construction from earlier BZ models!!!

I'm not sure how many years the M2s have been out...
...but tires (like shoes) are updated/redesigned periodically. I wouldn't expect any one model of tire to be around for more than 4-5 years, but that's just what I've noticed. Eddie would have better info on the long term availablilty of certain tire models.
After my experience, I would probably buy an extra tire to keep on hand (in case you damage one), if the model has already been out for a few years. Or, stick to recently released models.
