Eddie, or whoever else: A4/S4 steel wheels?
Want to get some snows, and was wondering if the 16" steel wheels packages for the A4 would also fit an S4? Alternatively, is there a 17" steel wheel that will do the job?
My roommate has an 2000 S4 and I have a 2000 A4, and I'd like to get something that could possibly go on either car. I don't really want to spring for alloys if they're going to just get chewed up from the ice and salt.
Any suggestions?

The steel wheels from an A4 will not fit the S4. No known 16" steel wheel will fit the S4, and I've never heard of a 17" steel wheel that fits it, either.
I have 16" Ronal R-28 alloys for winter wheels on my S4. There are a number of other 16" alloys available that fit the S4, but it's a limited choice. If you want a set of winter wheels for the S4, they'll have to be alloys. There are some pretty good deals out there, so you can get wheels without spending a fortune. Just get the cheapest things you can find that fit.

Tried that last year.
No such luck. There are no steel wheels that will clear the larger brakes, so we have priced a few 16" wheels that will fit with enough clearance pretty economically.
I suggest the Mille Miglia Spider or ATP S5 as your best bangs for the buck! Call me to discuss options further!
