Buying SP5000s in 235/45-17 tomorrow. Just need some reassurance.

Buying SP5000s in 235/45-17 tomorrow. Just need some reassurance.
I'm in Northern Virginia. Is this the right tire for RE040-like dry/wet performance with some snow-ability? Sounds like a steal. Tire rack compares the Dunlop to the Pirelli P7000SS and the Michelin XGT-something. Dunlop is $120, Pirelli is $160, Michelin is $180 and Tire rack says the Dunlop is by far the best. Just making sure. Am I forgeting any other comparables??? Thanks.

Try Kuhmo's, they're better
Atleast for me. I had a set of 5k's and they were good when new. Traction-good. Wear-good. They just howled too much and would roll over too quick. So, I bought the Kuhmo 812's. They are the best IMHO. Better price, better traction, wear just the same, no howling yet, looks better(subjective), more quiet, etc... I haven't had it in the snow yet, but will soon. the traction in the wet is outstanding as well as in the dry thus far. I'll buy these again. Just IMHO.

By far SP5000s most popular with my WTB for UHP-AS!
As you have seen in the results, I recommend them most heavily b/c they are the best (great $$ too!)
Your comment about being like RE040 w. snow is a point well put. Very good handling, great in wet also!
