Will 205/50-17 tires work on the stock S4 rims?

Will 205/50-17 tires work on the stock S4 rims?

I know I'll be sacrificing a little protection of the rim lip, but I figure a slightly narrower tire will be better for snow tires (and maybe a little easier to find). Will the 205/50-17s be the same basic rolling radius as the stock 225-45-17s?

I just got Dunlop Winter Sport M2's in 205/50/17 for my stock TT 6 spoke 17" rims

They will be mounted on Friday. It will make your speedometer 0.04% off(not even noticable). If the rims are 17"X7.5"(like the TT stock rims) you should be all set.

Lets you use your stock rims and clear the big brakes, but with 205 get the bite of a 16" tire setup.

Yep, they work well. I used them last winter on my S4. Watch the curbs and pavement changes!

Yes, but..

The diameter is a really good match for the OEM size,, BUT not very common at all, so there are just a few offerings in that size.

You are correct about the narrower contact area, which I do recommend if you are actually driving on something other than dry pavement most of the time, as there is a handling & cornering tradeoff as well.
