BFG Race tires killed off- Info Here!
BFGoodrich has discontinued production g-Force T/A R1 & g-Force T/A R1A tires. They have no
immediate plans to develop or produce DOT legal competition tires in the near future.
While BFGoodrich will continue to support the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Trans Am
Championship with g-Force T/A racing tires, the American Speed Association Stock Car Championship
with Traction T/A racing tires, and SCORE & CORE off road racing with light truck tires, BFGoodrich will
no longer support the SCCA World Challenge Series or build DOT legal competition tires for amateur
autocross/road racing club use.
The Tire Rack is awaiting a list of BFGoodrich's existing inventory of g-Force T/A R1 & g-Force T/A R1A tires from BFGoodrich to see if we wish to help them liquidate any remaining inventory.
While we have not yet seen this information published officially, the rumors are starting to surface and we were informed directly by BFGoodrich of their plans a few days ago.
Now for the good news. In 2001, Kumho Tire is expected to introduce a new Ecsta V700 DOT legal competition tire as a companion to the current Victoracer V700 tire, and Hoosier Racing Tires has identified that they have the capacity to increase the availability of A3S03 and R3S03, so I can continue to take cae of you!... just a heads up for you.
Call me with any questions!
Eddie
I want to try some.
