Looking for input/comparisons between Nitto NT-450 Extreme and Dunlop SP Sport 5000. for all season.

I've been doing some research and I think I'm narrowing it down to these two choices to replace my nearly bald Dunlop 8000's. I'm getting these for my 16" stock rims to get me through winter.... then I'm upgrading to 17 or 18" rims in the spring.. I'm in Chicago and although we get snow... it's usually cleared within hours.. so 99% of the time I'll be on relatively dry pavement. I can't justify snow tires for the 1% I'd actually drive in snow.... as well, I don't want to loose any performance.

Are there any pro's or cons I should know about with either of these tires? Also, for the price range, are there any other brand suggestions?

NT-450's SUCK...

I had them on my last car and I wasn't happy at all. About the only good thing about them was they were pretty durable, but as a performance tire it was pretty weak and I dont consider myself an agressive driver.

A buddy of mine had the SP 4000 (z-Rated)(?) All-Seasons and he loved those tires. Great warm weather tire and got him through the snow up here in New England.
