a4 sport pakage wheels
The Sport package currently comes with 16" 10-spoke alloy wheels with a Z-rated "performance" tire (either Pirelli P6000 or Dunlop SP-Sport 8000E).
I think they are porbablly not good in New York during the winter but I could be wrong.
Neither of these tires is suitable for use in the snow.
HOw do they perfrom in the snow.
They pretty much suck. If you're safety and your passenger's safety is important to you, and you'd like to avoid visits to your local body shop, an all-season tire is highly recommended. Better yet, purchase a winter tire & wheel package from Tire Rack and save the wear & tear on your nice alloys. You'll also benefit from the vastly improved traction of a true winter "snow" tire.
I really don't know anything at all about tires and wheel. What do the numbers like 255/55/10 etc... stand for.
The Tire Rack has that info on their site. Click the link below to get that information.
Thanks, and how are all-seanson tires with the sport package work.
All-season tires will work fine. You'll give up a bit of shear performance, but you'll gain a bit of foul-weather security. But in my opinion, all-season tires aren't that great. They try to do it all, and in the world of tires that's virtually impossible. I much prefer the two sets of tires, mounted and balanced, ready to slap on as need be. That way I get the best of both worlds and I can extract the most enjoyment and safety from my A4.

Tire Tech on Tire Rack Web Site
