Default I have the W210 SnowSports....I love them!

In my opinion they are the perfect compromise b/w dry road performance and winter driving conditions. They tend react slow tho, but that's what you should expect from a winter tire, IMO.
I haven't tried the Dunlops but heard they are not a bad tire as well.

Default Did you retrofit a Sport package to your '96....

....because a factory Sport package wasn't available until the 1997 model year. Even then, it didn't include any suspension mods. Just curious....

Nope, still stock suspension.... In '96 the sport package was basically the sport wheel : -(

Default Dunlop M2

I had the M2's put on this weekend. I love the snow traction and they don't seem to sacrafice too much on dry pavement. They also don't add much road noise. The stock RE040s are louder on some pavement types than the M2. I tried running up a snow packed road (uphill) with the RE040s on, then went back and did it again with the M2. No comparison between the 2. The RE040s were usless and the M2 held tight.

Default I agree; I have Dunlop M2 on my S4, and they were great on a trip to Buffalo (snow, heavy rain, etc)

I haven't used the Pirellis, but I do have Dunlop M2s in the stock size (225/45-17) on my S4, and they were great on a 1000-mile roundtrip to Buffalo around Thanksgiving this year.

There was nothing called "sport package" available. Sport Wheel only.

Default UPDATE - Dunlop M2

Just spent the day playing in the snow in Chicago. The M2s are worth their weight in gold. I had an M3 in front of me at a stop sign that could go nowhere but sideways, so I passed him. hehehehe

Default I can vouch for the Pirelli 210 Asimmetricos

I've been on snow/ice/wet/dry with these tires and they never dissapointed me. Incidentally, I am selling mine if you're interested. 205 R15 60. 5K miles. Don't need them in LA.
