Shouldn't the OEM lug bolt fit the steel-wheel VW/Audi take-offs.
The bolts just don't seem quite long enough. I have a MY00 A4 with
the 10 spoke alloys.
I purchased from Tirerack, but purchase did not include lug bolts

Call them up - to answer the question
Maybe yes and maybe no - each wheel has different amount of metal thickness and hence require a different lenght of bolt.
My MAS MGRs took longer bolts.
One word of caution - you can also have too long of a bolt too.

You're right. I just needed another attempt to get those Audi bolts to hand tighten properly.
Naturally, all the problems were with the first tire. Others tightened by hand with no
problems. I stuck with Audi's instructions not to put any lubricant on bolts, some were corroded with a white powdery substance. Other than wiping them off with a cloth, or
maybe a brass brush, is there anything else you can do to make it easier to thread.
