Safety question about Dunlop SP8000Es
I have to drive from NYC to Boston this Thursday or Friday. The weather forecast is mid-30s and dry. I am running Dunlop SP 8000Es. I know that these tires are not a smart option for wintry conditions, but on a dry day in the mid or even low 30s do you think they should be OK?

Fair point -- I just ordered a set of SP 5000s (I'm sending you the bill, Reggie)
No sense in taking chances, so I ordered a set of 4 from Eddie at Tirerack for $410 including second day shipping. Everything I've read suggests that this is the only all season worth considering. Hopefully the performance dropoff will be negligible. I'll probably use one of the old SP 8000Es as the spare.

Good Choice - I don't know about your weather person but I can't rely on ours in CO
Only when I lived in the Bay Area was the weather predictions close to being right. I guess with all the Pacific Ocean and no mountains in the way they could make better guesses.
Hope the 5000s will keep you from posting negative stories on your return. Last year there were tons of S4 crashes (I was shocked - so many people posting all year before they got their S4s and then seemed surprised they could not turn or stop on snow and ice. Did they think all the postings from the A4 people did not apply to them?)
