Eddie, SP5000 vs D60A2?
Tire Rack has some surveys that might be useful to you - poke around there and you'll at least be able to find some "on a scale of 1 to 10" numbers for different performance categories...
Sorry, but I can't speak to the SP5000, though I did just buy one of them on Eddie's recommendation to replace the SP8000E on my spare.
HTH,
Curiously I had D60A2's on my Honda previously and did not notice such poor snow performance. I've noticed that the smaller D60A2's have more sipes that the 16 inchers on my A4 - that may be why these are worse. Even though they're the same tire name, the old 14 inchers I had looked much more like an allseason tire.
I'm curious if the SP5000's are better, when I decide to get my next set of tires.
Tom
truly state-of-the-art design. I have them on my S4 and the "other" car. There are other testimonials about this tire in other Audiworld forums since the big snows have hit.
As for snow, we havent really tested them side by side, as they are not comparable types, and the fact is you can only get *so* good with an all season tire on snow, but I would say if there is an advantage in winter it would be the SP5000 due to the higher silica content & more wet performance overall, but not a huge difference though.
Hope this helps- call me when ready or to discuss further!
Thanks
Eddie
