Question: Winter tire! Is it Okay to just change the tire?

Is it okay to change the tires only?

or I need to buy new rims and witer tires?

I have no idea!!!!! please help!

Also, which one is the better winter tire?

winterspot M2 or P...something...?

Of course you can change tires..but you need to do it in spring...again. Dunlop M2 is a good one.

Changing just the tire may harm it...(look inside)

A friend of mine who owns a tire shop once told me that changing just the tire may tear or damage the fibers that make up the tire. (or something to that effect) He basically said that the tire would not be the same after the first change. This is NOT to say that you can't swap tires on the same rim, what I'm trying to say is that if you do the tires will loose their effectiveness/nimbleness (for Lack of Better words) after a few changes.
But if you're going to swap tires it is recommended that you go to reputable place and mention to the guys changing your tires that you are indeed going to be using them again and that they be very careful. Most guys will just squash the tire in an effort to get it off the rim as easy as possible.

One other thing, it will cost you around $10/tire twice a year to change them. That's around $80 per year. It will be worth it to just buy some steel wheels to tide you over the few months of winter.
