Boring All Season tire recommendation
I have another car used for skiing so don't care much about snow and ice performance. I do, however, live in Portland, OR and am very interested in good wet weather performance.
I have the stock 5-spoke 16" sport wheels from that year.

So on the dry road -- the 5000's are a tad more noisy and you get more feedback from them. I pushed them hard on a couple of exit ramps and they definitely flex a little more than the 8000s but nothing severe -- they seem to grip very well.
So the real test will come this weekend where I will be driving in snow, slush and probably some rain as I will be on the Eastern Shore. I will be more than happy to let you know about my experience with the 5000s after this weekend if you are interested.

The D60 A2's really fit the bill for me. I got them locally at a Direct Tire Town shop, mounted, balanced and out the door for $82/each. They handle wet and dry very well. Huge improvement over the stock Goodyear GSA rubber.
