Eddie: Are Superleggeras weldable? (more)
Since they are some sort of exotic titanium/ aluminum alloy, they may present problems if you get any sort of damage. Can they be welded with conventional equipment?

The word from my wheel engineering dept.:
Not sure why he wants to "Weld" his wheels... However the OZ
Superleggera wheels (except for the 19" forged wheels) are cast
aluminum, heat treated wheels that are shot-peened. A very good design
and applied technologies learned from many years of racing experience,
create a wheel that is very light and strong. <b>Welding any wheel is not
advised.</b> Even if every aspect of the alloy and heat treatment is known,
the wheel will not be as strong as it was originally. ( If you
structurally damaged a helmet, would you try to repair it???)
