Lots of S-02 questions...
I am currently running S-02 PPs on my Impreza and have been very pleased with them. Since the S4 Avant comes with Pirelli all-seasons, we may upgrade to S-02s this spring.
On the Impreza forum, a number of questions came up about these tires, with no satisfactory answers.
1) There are apparently many compounds of S-02s available, ranging in treadwear from 160 to 220-240, with different "heat ranges" also listed. Tirerack's web site only lists S-02s with treadwear 140-180 and PPs with 180. Can anyone provide some detail?
2) I understand that several tires, including the S-02s are made in special versions for Porsche. They are designated N1, N2, N3 etc. Does anyone know what, specifically, is different about these tires? What do the N ratings mean--I was told it has something to do with ride quality?

Jon, the S4 Avant may come with Pirelli P6000's, but they aren't all-season tires....
....there are two different versions of the P6000:
P6000 Sport Veloce: All-season "touring" tire.
p6000: This is the "high-performance" version that is coming on some S4's and A4's.
Hopefully you'll get Michelin Pilot's on your Avant....keep your fingers crossed.
