Default Rubbing issues w/ 17x8 BBS RX

I seem to have rubbing issues with my passenger side frount tire. I'm running S03's 225/45/17s with H&R/Bilsteins. The only time it happen is when I make hard turns or when the shocks dampens hard. Has this happened to anyone with this particular setup? What can I do to fix it? It may also be my suspension setup, the shocks dampens very easily. I had it checked by NTB and they say the shocks looked fine and said that the car bounces because I lowered the car. I told them that shouldn't be the cause cause I have Bilstein shocks too. He just said "I don't know". Please help! Thanks!

Default May need to roll your fenders.

It seems that there is no consistancy among setups as to what rubs. I have BBS CHs in 18x8.5", and when I had Eibach Prokit springs, the car rubbed like mad. But no one else with the same setup was having this problem. In the end, it was so bad that I had to switch to Hypercoil/Vortrag springs AND roll my fenders. Sometimes you just can't explain these things, as frustrating as that may be

I AM a little suprprised that you'd get rubbing with that setup, though. Pretty conservative choices there. Go figure...

Default Exactly where is the rub?

If it is on the wheel well liner right about the location of that screw above the tire holding the liner to the wheel lip, then that is not too uncommon. You can either try to avoid those situations or look into rolling the fender lip and modifying the liner for the rolled up lip.

I am not sure about the meaning of your description of how your suspension is working. Do you get the feeling your wheels are bouncing? The Bilsteins sport shocks should handle the H&R just fine so if bouncing that is not a good sign for the shock. I wouldnt trust the opinion of an NTB guy, or most other similar mechanics for that matter when it comes to shocks. Shocks can degrade without total failure - or any outward signs of a problem, and only driving the car and some experience in the matter can tell for sure.

I heard a lot about rolling the fenders. How exactly do they do that? What's the negative side to rolling my fenders? Thanks for you help! Also, what kind of shocks do you recommend?

Default rolling fender

Basically it amounts to folding that horizontal lip around the opening of the fender up against the fender (the rear are already rolled - so that is an example). One of the problems this creates is that the liner will not fit without alteration, but some people seem to have done it - I have done neither. It is also fairly common for the paint to crack where the sheetmetal is folded in this process, especially if the roll job is more like a fold than a rounding of the lip.

I use and like the Bilstein Sport. I have the Neuspeed version of them.

Lowered suspension= simple fender lip roll will cure.
