BFGoodrich Comp T/A VR4's...
Please give me your thoughts on them. I had to get them over the Yokohama AVS dB's that I REALLY wanted because Yokohama doesn't make them in 215. Arrr... it pissed me off; seems to me like a bad compromise. I got the 215 50VR16's. Please give any opinions.

I had the 225/50/16 on stock rims.....
I got them because I wanted all seasons instead of the stock sp8000's. With the wider tire, handling was a little better. Its not very good in the rain, tends to wander a bit. Its ok in the snow. Otherwise just an average tire. I don't use it anymore since I got the Avus wheels and tire and Alpine snow tires.

I used them on my 1980 Firebird Formula and had very good luck with them. I used to have the Radial TA but when I went to the Comp TA notice a huge difference in reduced side sway.
UNFORTUNATELY.... BFG has changed this tire.
It is not the same Comp TA I used, has a different tread pattern and different construction. You may want to double check this but back in the late 80's the comp TA was 2 steel 4 nylon cords) Last I checked it is now 2 and 2.
I tried a limited set of Euro TA's on my 87 IROC and found them to be unreal nice Gummy traction in wet and dry. The sacrifice was that this was only a 30k mi tire.
Overall I think you will be satisfied with the Comp TA, not sure how well it will hold under severe driving though now that it has less nylon.
I put some Touring TA's on my wifes Lumina Sedan and am going withe Yoko DB's for my 98 MonteCarlo for a change of pace. Will have to see how they work out. Getting rid of my Eagles, one has a separated cord after 27k miles and mild driving.
