Ideal width and offset for an S4?

Sorry if I should be able to find this answer in the archives, I've been looking for almost an hour!

I am thinking of having some wheels custom made for my car. I definately want 18"ers. What is the ideal width and offset for an S4?

Is wider better? i.e. should I try to get an 8.5" or 8" or stick with a 7.5"

The right offset would depend on the width, right?

Can anyone help?

The stock rim is 17X7.5 ET 45 so if you want to go 8" wide wheel you need ET 35.

I do not recommend you go to 8.5. I found a lot of rubbing issues with that size. You need to roll the fender if you want to go that wide.

Thanks! I figured from reading that 8.0 was the most reasonable size. If I could only get them in

a 7.5" should I stick with the stock ET 45 offset? I guess that would make sense since the diamater really doesn't have much to do with the width, right?

There isnt really an 'ideal' spec that itr nees to be. Most aftermarket wheel run a bit wider 8" typical, which also requires a lower offset as you go wider, so *most* wheels will usually be about a 35mm offset for the best on car fit.
