Default I'd take the Dunlops...

... because the directional tread of the pilot sports in theory is louder than the tread design of the Dunlops. Dunlops are also cheaper. Pilot Sport AS are not the Pilot Sports so why kid yourself. Pilot Sports AS do have a good treadwear rating.

Default Had the Dunlops and swithced to the Pilot Sport A/S-->

as did a number of people on the A6 Forum because of problems with the 5000s going out of round. The A/Ss are a fantastic tire with no more noise than the Dunlops but I believe higher performance. Everyone just assumes they are another All Season Tire, but they really are in a class by themselves. Michelin is using a manufacturing process that allows them to put 3 different rubber compounds across the tread. Wet road compound in the center with water channels on each side. Winter compound on each side of those channels and summer tread/compound on the edges and shoulders. It also has a wear rating of 400. There is a test in the January or February European car mag in which the Pilot Sport A/S out performed at least one dedicated summer tire and all of us on this forum who have tried them have been extremely impressed with their wet and winter performance.

Default Both really good stuff.

The Dunlops have been the UHP AS tire I have been recommending since they came out.

They are pretty much the best in snow (for an AS tire)- good ride, wet traction very good, and pretty inexpensive.

The PS A/Ss are a pretty serious contender in that category too. I would suggest spending the evrta cash for them if you want the highest dry performance

Call me to discuss in more detail

Default You must mean real Summer tires-->

I have nothing to compare them to as I have had A/S since I got my car. The article in European Car said they outperformed at least one pure Summer tire they tried in the test. I have never had problems with them on the dry and the wet performance makes up for anything they may lack in dry weather.
