Michelin Pilot Sport, Yoko AVS Sport, or Bridgestone S-03.. What would you do?
The three tires in the subject of this post are what I'm considering for replacement. Pricing for my size is basically identical between the 3. I'm leaning a little toward the S-03s after reading some reviews at tirerack.
Which would you guys go with, and a little explanation as to why?
Thanks!
Kirk
especially now that Winter is about finished. Though it snowed a bit today, I'll have them back on in about 2 weeks.
The link is to my comparison of the S-03 and the original Dunlop SP8000.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a8/msgs/5405.phtml">S-03 vs SP8000</a></li></ul>
As you noticed yourself, price is not really an issue - they're all about as expensive.
Given that, I found that the S-03s have the best reviews out of all the tires that you are considering. Basically, the best dry and wet performance you can buy.
The reason why I was considering SP9000 is that it is supposed to be very quiet and also last the longest. On the other hand, I don't want to compromise on dry/wet performance, so I'm currently leaning towards the S-03. However, I have heard that the S-03 is quite heavy, whereas the SP9000 is one of the lightest tires out there. The P6000s which you are replacing are also pretty light. The tire weight is actually even more important than rim weight since the tire is located further away from the center of the wheel.
Another thing about the S-03 which I like is that they are very wide. The 225 is as wide as 235 of some other brands. That's gotta look good ;-)
