My A4 winter setup is A6 sport wheels with 215/55/16.Can I use a diff size for better handling?

You could use a 225/50.. *slight* increase in dry handling I suppose
Also moving to a more high Performance oriented winter tire (Dunlops WinterSport M2) will give you a better dry increae as well..
