Anyone running P7000's? good? bad? I have a good deal on a set and I need cheap rubber.
Anyway, assuming you are looking for Ultra High Performance All-Season, and comparing them to others in that category.
For All-Seasons I thought the Pirelli's handled the dry situations very well. I am a fast and aggressive driver (aren't we all) and I thought they handled, cornered and had good steering response, i.e. performed very well in the dry. Not as good in the wet and snow. But having said that I never got stuck in the snow with them + quattro, and I live in Chicago.
The biggest negative on them is that they can get noisy as they wear. Most do, but I have heard some people say their's didn't.
I now have the Dunlop SP Sport 5000s which I think are better tires overall. They are worse in dry situations than the P7000s, but are better in wet and snow and not as loud, that is why I made the switch. Plus, at the time everyone was raving about the SP Sport 5000s and I like to switch it up a lot, so i tried them.
My guess is the new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S (haven't tried them yet) are better than all of them, but boy are they expensive.
Good luck.
