I need help so I can get the right lug bolts... Please...

I am putting wheels on my dad's new A6 3.0 for a surprise bithday present. I got him some Rota some rota stage 5 wheels,17x8 with a et 40mm offset. My question is can I use the stock lug bolts, or do I need ones?, (longer?, shorter?, conical?, flat?, ball?)
Please help

Can't you buy the lugs where you are buying the wheels?...

If they don't know what you need for lugs, I wouldn't buy the wheels from them.

typically lugs come with the wheels.

at least they did for my OZ's from TireRack.
