New Tires for A8 w/ Ronal R28x17x8.5 Wheels
Hi, I love my 17x8.5 R28s and need new tires. If I want to stay close to stock Rolling diameter on my A8 my tire choices are 245/50/17 (not a lot of choices) or 255/45/17 (stil 1/2 " smaller than stock). 225/50 is too narrow for the 8.5" rim. Gary likes the 255/45 but I'm concerned about smaller diameter and also about tire noise. Thoughts/opionions/personal experiences?

Just got 4 used dunlop sport 5000s off ebay for 167 plus shipping in the 245/50/17 size, so I'll see how that works for me. with the 8.5 rims a wider tire might be better, but I'm looking for quieter at this point. I don't push the car that hard.
